#1 Header Tank Anti Corrosion

Post by Pete G » Sun Aug 24, 2025 4:22 pm

I have bought a new coolant expansion tank to replace what has become little more than a colander.
What can I do to prevent rust on the inside of the new steel tank?
Thanks

Go for aluminium, in black powder coat you won't tell the difference.

I can read  My point here being, you can always send items back and purchase a better suited item.

My tank from a usual supplier and coolant with corrosion inhibitor lasted for two years before springing multiple leaks. This may have been a one of but still…..
