#1 Front Shock Dimensions

Post by Sdinse » Wed Oct 08, 2025 12:16 am

I have searched in vain looking for what the bolt center to center dimension should be for the Series III extended front shocks. Surely someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve...sorry I dont know ...a search found plenty of info for S1/S2 cars......you can work it out by supporting you car off the ground....placing a jack under the lower wishbone to release the shock......then lower the wishbone carefully......but not enough to put strain on the steering track rod ends or move the steering mounts....then measure between shock mounts.....this would give the max open shock length......any longer than this would potentially damage the steering when jacking up the front end to change a wheel etc but bear in mind any flex in the shock eye bushes.....but maybee someone will post who knows....ps I also searched on JagLovers..no luck.....Steve

Just undo them, measure them to you heart's content and bolt them back in.

(When the car is simply sitting on the ground, they aren't doing anything and are neither fully extended nor fully compressed nor bearing any load, as they aren't moving.)

kind regards
Marek
