Hi,Rob Gill here, I need to change the parking position on my wipers,does anyone have any info on how to do it?Thanks.

Well Rob, on an S2,
It is possibly a bit different on an S3, sorry I am not sure.
Remove the wiper arms. They just pull off gently with a little bit of pressure on the little spring.
You pull down the centre instrument panel,
Remove the flasher unit to gain access to the aperture into the bulkhead, you can now get to the wiper rack.
Reach in the pliers and undo (pull) the spring clip the holds the connection between the rack and the motor drive, releasing the two parts. Careful, this spring-clip costs £12 if you lose it.
This is a good time to check the free movement of your wiper rack.
Open the bonnet. Undo the motor by removing the three bolts joining in to the bulkhead.
Depending on the position of your expansion bottle/throttle linkages/slaves cylinders, there may be a few things to get out of the way first.
Withdraw the wiper motor/gearbox unit.
You will then see the arm on the bottom of the drive can be undone, the arm rotated 180 degrees and the whole lot reassembled.
Check the rack parks on the correct side before re attaching the wiper arms.

Dear Rob,
This is a mechanical problem with a mechanical solution.
For every one rotation of the wiper motor, the blades move through one complete sweep and back again. The wiper motor mechanical mechanism makes the motor stop in the same place every time.
If you remove just the three mounting bolts of the wiper motor and let it hang down, you'll see that the wiper motor has a minute hand bolted onto the back of it which must sweep through 60 minutes per cycle.
It is held on by a circlip and comes off if all of its washers are removed.
If you refix the minute hand back onto its spindle "thirty minutes later", then the wiper's mechanical stop position now translates to a stop position half way through where the previous full cycle would have been, ie.e. on the other side of the screen.
You now need to reassemble the rest of the linkage to the wipers back and fit the "parked" right handed wipers in place of the left handed ones you currently have, so that they slant the right way when parked. Their next movement will be to the left when the motor starts to turn.
If you fail to get the correct the relationaship between the default wiper position and minute hand placement, then the first thing that the wiper motor will do is smack your wipers further into the bodywork, so on a fresh installation, it'd be prudent to test that you have it right by either having the wipers away from the screen (as when washing the screen) or take them off and replace them with a sticky label with an arrow on it so you can see what will happen when power is applied.
There is no expansion bottle or linkages to worry about with a s3 - you don't even need to remove the dash as the circlip you need to handle is most easily accessible from the front anyway.
