Dayton wire wheels S3 roadster

The diameter is the issue. The spare needs to be jammed in. Floor fits over ok. The larger diameter also messes up the speedo a bit. And tyres wider than recommended for the rims doesn't help cornering.

Hi
Can i encourage you to always fit inner tubes in wire wheels regardless of what the manufacturer says.
https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/classi ... tubes.html
but it is worth noting that you should not put inner tubes in tyres that are lower than 70% profile, which isnt a problem because no car that fits wire wheels would have had lower than 70% profile tyres, and would not handle very well on anything lower.
This tyre test shows the best tyres for these cars.

they have done the maths wrong though in the toptals. the P5 should have scored 1.2 instead of 2.1 and we would say as it was built for jag powere steering it is now the best tyre for a series 3 E-Type. (The CN12 is also excellent.)

My sealed center laced MWS wire wheels are coming up on 20 years old without use of tubes. I do lose about 3-4 PSI over the winter layup. So what's the issue with no tubes?

Why do you say that? Because I'm planning 55% profile on 17x7 alloy wheels; tyres 215 wide, same rolling diameter and offset as oem?
