#1 Washer hose replacement

The washer jet of my OTS doesn't work.
I disconnected the hose from the pump: Pump is working. Then I disconnected the hose that runs all the way up the hood from the jet as well and tried to blow through the hose - completely blocked.

Has anybody already replaced the long hose from the pump over the long hood to the jet? Any hints?

Best regards

Gerhard

Hi Gerhard,
Was the piping disconnected from the jet as well as the pump so you are sure it is the piping and not the jet?
Has it ever worked during your ownership? Has any work been done under the bonnet since it worked?
The original silicone piping is soft and very long so there is great scope for it to get trapped - for instance behind the heater inlet duct flange if this has been replaced.
Before replacing try to trace it along its full length to see if it has been trapped or kinked anywhere.
Unless yours is a very early S3 check the connector between the two halves of the pipework (located and probably hidden behind the LH side of the bonnet support frame)
Hope this helps,
Bob

Hello Bob and thanks for your reply.
The pipe was disconnected on both sides and I tried to blow into it with a compressor from both sides.
I thought that the pipe is one piece only. I can trace it all the way down the bonnet. I will check for a connector again.

Best regards

Hi Gerhard,
This might help you find the join. Looking from the car centreline above the steering rack (LHD) out to the left.
