#1 Reputable UK or Dutch based E-Type specialists sought

Post by Meonstoke » Fri Oct 18, 2019 1:31 pm

Hi,
I am seeking advice on which reputable E-Type specialists to use for some light bodywork and mechanical work on my S3 E-type. Obviously there is E-Type UK but who else might I consider using? I am looking for a good balance between confirmed quality of work and reasonable expense, and with a known specialism in V12 engines. Can be UK wide although south coast would be convenient - but not obligatory. I've heard there are also some good Dutch E-type specialists out there?

Which garages/restoration houses would forum users recommend based on actual personal experience rather than on hearsay or rumour?

Thanks.

Hi,

Having sourced my car in the Netherlands, I used the services of Avelingen Restorations in Gorinchem (NL). Last year they rebuilt the entire front end of my car, including sending the engine and gearbox for a rebuild. This winter they are working on the body, which has been taken back to the bare metal to fix some damage which was hidden under layers of Bondo (former US car).

I am aware I better should have done the other way around, but the scope of the work I wanted to have done changed over time.

Although they deal with several types of cars, they have vast experience with E-types. Usually 2 or 3 e-types were there when I visited.

Just a satisfied customer, no affiliation.
