#1 Water Temperature Sensor?

Post by e-bygum » Fri Apr 09, 2010 9:56 pm

A question has come up on the other forum about an electrical water temp. sensor fitted in the side of the thermostat housing on the left bank of the engine. According to the parts book this sensor is only applicable to USA/Canada and from engine no. 7S14001.
I realise it is a long shot but does anyone have info. on this i.e. what's the purpose of this sensor. Educated guesses may help.

Could it be something to do with the airconditioning system, Pete? If the car starts to overheat, then cutting out the aircon, which puts a big load on the engine, would make sense. It's probably when the humans would need cool air the most though!
