Has anybody tried to fit an Aircon system to a series 3 roadster. I realise the roof is a pretty good option but there will be times driving overseas when the roof may have to go up to provide protection against the midday sun.

Any help would of course be appreciated

We fit the Clayton system. I have it in my 67 FHC. Works well.

Clayton offer a number of different systems. Is there one in particular that you would recommend.

The one that we have used is the fresh air system with underdash vents.

Where are you based and do you have a website link.

Also do you have any images of a completed installation.

I've never tried it myself, but maybe it's a good idea. The presence of air conditioning makes driving more comfortable, too low or too high temperature will no longer be so distracting. I hate driving when I can be boiled alive in my car. I tried to install an air conditioner, but my local experts said they hadn't done it before and refused to do the job. I have a friend who did this with the help of the guys from airconservicingsingapore.com. They did a great job, and now he has a new life behind the wheel of this car. I would like to use their services. Therefore, they did their job very carefully and skillfully. It is a pity that they are so far away, but who has the opportunity to use their services do it.
