Hi,
Does anyone have a spare or source for this (50 x 32mm) oblong-shaped grommet, used to protect the main loom as it passes through from the dash area to the engine compartment, near to the wiper motor / pedal housing?
I haven't managed to find a picture or part number, so the picture of the perished remains of mine is all I can offer by means of identification.
Not found anything even similar so far by extensive Googling, so I'm trying the forum before considering making something up.

Drewpy, I tried and failed to find the grommet when I rebuilt my Series 3. Mine was also in pretty poor state. There are I believe there are two solid plastic inserts which secure the flexible rubber in position. At least that is what I found. Very interested to see how this develops. I would like to see a picture fo what the full assembly should look like and of course where these can be purchased.

Hi Doddsy,
Yes, agree on the plastic insert; there is one remaining on mine, with a diagonal interlocking joint to lock it to the other (missing) insert by the look at it. Looks a very clever way to let the big connectors through, then provide a tight seal between the two areas of the car.

When replying to the original text I noticed that there was another post about this which included a photo of the grommet full assembled. When restoring my car I managed to reuse the original (also minus one of the plastic pieces) so it isn't great but had no alternative. if anyone manages to find a source I will be buying one for sure.

Hi Drewpy
The part number is C30670.
SNG Show its for the V12E £73.82 Inc Vat Special Order
David Manners show it for the XJ12 £60.00 Inc Vat special order
(As to the quality or availability that remains to be seen)
You could try Hutsons/M&C Wilkinson as they may know where to get it
Good Luck

If enough people want them, then I might be tempted to do it at some future date. I had thought it was a no starter as nobody in their right mind would pay £45, but I might be wrong there.
kind regards
Marek

Hi Marek - I'd certainly be interested to buy one from you (at a reasonable price).
Look forward to future developments (from your 3D printer!)
All the best
Chris
