Hi

Jaguar asked Pirelli in the 1970s to develop a 205/70R15 tyre to improve their power steering cars. Then in the late 1970s they homologated the Cinturato P5 as the tyre for the XJS and XJ6 and of course the V12 versions.

Nice bit of history as this was the first tyre that was the result of such a heavy colaboration of tyre manufacuter and car manufacturer working together to msake sure the design of this tyre was so perfectly suited to their powersteering luxury cars.

The good news is that Jaguar have felt the need to get some good tyres for their cars again. They have gone back to Pirelli and asked them to make the P5 again. The P5 has gone to Jaguar for thier own testing which it has passed and now it has the J homoligation on it.

We were a bit reserved about fitting them to the series 3 E-type, however we have now done it and the result was a very happy customer and that is now our V12 XK-E recomendations. The P5 compliments the Jaguars systems and powersteering.

we have a new batch of the 205/70R15 P5 coming in any day now.
