Dear forum collegues,
I‘m trying to find out what has to be connected to the small pipe at the intake manifolds.

Perhaps someone can help me with that.
Best regards

Take a look in the Parts Manual for the various vacuum connections like bypass valves, airbox heater flaps etc. This varied from market to market and by year. When not needed, two adjacent stub pipes were simply connected front to back with each other so no vacuum leaks occurred.
kind regards

Hello Marek,
thank you for your quick response.
The last owner of the car has closed a hose that connects there with a screw.
Looking at the length I think it could be for the thermostatic valves in the air filter box which switch to pre warmed air when the engine is cold.
Best regards
Sven

You may find he blanked it off because the round bellows unit connected to the flap (or the little thermo switch in the middle of the airbox) leaked air. This would constitute a vacuum leak as the manifold and the airbox are on different sides of the throttle butterfly.

Hello Marek,
thank you for the hint.
I'll check the valves before connecting them to the manifold.
