#1 Fuel Filter

Post by thermojac » Mon Jan 17, 2022 5:55 pm

I ordered a new fuel filter from SNG, pt no C28080 but the diameter of the filter is too small for the glass bowl. Was there different sizes of the glass bowl filter housing?

Thanks

John

Unfortunately they didn't as I ordered the other part number (JS660) after that but it was too big.

Do you have correct S3 e-type filter?
Do you have the spring?

What is the spring for this filter? Honestly I've never seen anything like this before. Does it involve any movement when driving or what?

Info on glass bowl filter........note that this newer type of filter works in reverse to the original type...sediment will collect inside the filter and not be seen in the glass bowl....Steve viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13616&p=110728&hili ... er#p110728

Thanks very much to Colin for the photos and Steve for the link which has made sense of my situation.
The C28080 filter is correct but my confusion was that it was a donut filter that has been previously fitted.
Reading on the reason for the new type filter, I will now go ahead and fit C28080.

Thanks again
John
