Was the rear light cluster on a 73 S3 common to any other cars?

I believe some of the later Lotus Elan had the same lights.

Lotus Elan S3/4 used the same lights but with the added advantage of incorporating a reversing light. Marek makes and sells lenses: viewtopic.php?p=59789#p59789

They were also on the Lotus Europa. On one of the cars, Lotus had them upside down to Jaguar. The Lotus versions incorporated the reverse light into the cluster and the bulb was very dim by modern standards. My lenses feature a twin coloured red and white high brightness LED insert into that clear housing so you have additional brake lights aswell as brighter reverse illumination. The housings are made to order, so you can have them custom made in any colour you like.

I was hoping to find someone who sold just the chrome part of the light, all the other parts are as new so it goes against local tradition to have to buy replacements, but it seems they only come as a complete unit

Kev...speak to SNGB.....iv had rear chrome section from them for S2 2+2...they had a huge batch of seconds they were selling....they always have them at Stonleigh spares day...may even be listed on their site....Steve
