hi,
Buffer shown in parts list, front suspension,(C34966) that fits between the torsion bar reaction bracket and underside of floor, However SNG say no longer available.

Is this something that is not really needed / required or obsolete?
Or maybe something I can make?
When I removed my reaction brackets a few years ago I'm pretty sure there wasn't anything there?
any advice welcome.
thanks,
colin

i've since found out from Jag V12 E type Authenticity guide, that this 'Buffer' is a piece of rubber.
see pic from book.
I'll cut a pice of rubber .....

I believe these are anti-squeak pads.
I also glued a section of closed-cell rubber to them

Hi Craig,
many thanks for sending the pics of the rubber fitted to the reaction bracket.
I guessing thickness is about same as bracket flange?
Kind regards,
Colin

Colin

I had purchased a sheet of thin (1/16" thick- ??) closed cell rubber when I was restoring the instrument panel. There is a long narrow stretch of rubber at the bottom which I believe was a light and/or dust shield. My original crumbled to pieces/dust at the slightest touch

I simply cut two sections to fit the bottom of the torsion bar brackets and glued them in place. I imagine the weight of car will squish them pretty flat but will hopefully do their intended function without complaint.

Many thanks Craig,
I have some 1/8" thick rubber but I reckon that's too thick. Will head to the rubber shop tomorrow and get 1.5mm sheet.
Best regards,
Colin
