Hi all,
Quick question, was is the recommended Ah rating for a Series 3 E-Type battery?
A search online seems to indicate 70-75 Ah is sufficient, but I just wanted to check first.
Many thanks,
Marcus

75Ah is about the biggest you can fit if only for size reasons.

Thanks for clarifying David.
I’m looking at a battery charger/conditioner so I wanted to check the specs against the E-Type battery before buying.
Cheers,
Marcus

Very topical, currently re-jigging my battery arrangement.
Question for the rivet-counters: Is there a “correct” polarity configuration? Or did some markets do it one way, others the opposite, so it’s not something that gets picked on?
Polarity as in which side the positive terminal is on. I don’t care, just curious.
My existing battery is Century NS70LX MF with 720 CCA, 150 RC, 82 Ah, the largest I could fit. I.e. is a tad more than 75 Ah. Polarity is “C” which has the +ve terminal at front-right; or back-left if you turn it around, which was my oem arrangement.
With my oem arrangement, such a full size battery causes the positive terminal to be too close to the frame rail and the adjacent positive post to be too close and overcrowded. Will be improved by using a “D” polarity battery instead, i.e. with the positive terminal at back-right. This photo is showing that my new configuration is wrong for my existing battery:
Chargers/pulse conditioners, I have several; I mostly use a unit bought on ebay for AUD 28, have had it for 3 years, no issues.

Where it's very difficult to disconnect in a hurry!

I didn't think so, I said that tongue in cheek. It just defies logic to me that Jaguar placed the terminals inboard, especially with helmet connectors.
