#1 The Wonderful V12

Post by Ikebaddog » Sun May 04, 2025 7:40 pm

I've owned my '71 V12 for about 8 years now, when I first got it I had a fairly successful company and was happy(ish) to pay extraordinary prices to get work done on the old girl, moving quickly forward, Covid struck, ruined my company, and me...... lost my Aston Martin, my Caterham, my Jeep, all my motorbikes etc, but I held on to the e-type.....only now I have to do my own work on what I considered a beast of an engine.......
After 3 years of servicing, repairing, updating etc, I've come to the realisation that the V12 isn't a beast at all, it's just like any other internal combustion engine, but more so! If it wasn't for the access to most parts, it would be a lovely engine to work on, its refined, well built, well designed and actually a superb piece of engineering design..... I think what I'm trying to say here is,,,don't be scared of it!! With the valuable help from forums like this, nothing is impossible ....just don't expect to find anything you drop into the engine bay.

Oh, just one other thing, I really quite enjoy overtaking EV's and letting them sniff a bit of unburnt dinosaur blood.
