Kick down switch

Ok fellas, Sunday evening question for the collective…. Quick summary of work I’ve done on my ‘71 V12
Removed and replaced passenger side carbs using all new gaskets, se timing as per discussion with MarekH, took her out for a proper blast today, easy to start, plenty of torque, however, the gearbox will only change up at kick down speeds…obviously with the work I’ve carried out, a lot of things have been disturbed…. Where would be your first point of investigation??

I'd check the vacuum connection to the gearbox. It's on the left side of the car irrc.

Does that connect to the left hand intake manifold?

Hi MarekH, I’ve been under the car with the front lifted, but couldn’t find the location of the vacuum pipe, I’ve now got the rear of the car lifted, do you know where I should be looking for the connection, do I need to remove anything first, any help would be greatly appreciated

Since you have access, just start at the rear of the left black manifold and follow it all of the way to the gearbox. The hard line ends just aft of the green plate on the autobox and goes through a 180' turn to enter the gearbox from behind.

MarekH…. You sir are a star, found the disconnected hose, reconnected to hard pipe, will test tomorrow, but I know you have found the problem, cheers fella
