My starter motor, new high speed type fitted less than 1000 miles ago is making a racket. Sound like some sort of electrical shorting when turning over.
The motor was fitted by a garage when having the gearbox ,clutch etc done.
Went to remove it and for the life of me I cannot see how you get at the two bolts to undo and release motor.
The manual just says remove the lower shield, battery, undo wires to starter motor etc. to remove. Looks to me to get at bottom bold you have to remove exhaust from manifold and heat shield. As for the top bolt i cannot even see where this is.
car is up on stands so access is poor.
Anybody able to point me in the right direction other wise it will have to be trailered to a Jag specialist which seems a little insane given any normal car you can get it out relatively easy in my past experience.

Hi
I've not removed a starter from a V12 whilst in the car, however when I left school I trained fot two years as a auto electrician and many times I would look at a starter that I had to remove and ask myself how was it possible but it always was.
If the manual says it will, it normally does you just need double jointed fingers.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.
