Joe, one can only commiserate with you. Your car is distinctive and hopefully easier for any in the trade to recognise. Possibly just joy riders finding a relatively easy to break into car? What hope of our police force making the slightest effort to track it or even keep an eye open for it :banghead:

Thanks Geoff,

No one saw/heard anything. It's pretty loud to start up and many neighbours know the car (she's quite the celebrity) - I get the feeling she was loaded onto a grab truck, gone quietly in a few seconds probably.
The police effort was to respond to my online report with " there's not enough evidence to investigate. Case is closed." Hard to close a case that never opened. I won't start moaning (about to start moaning) about the thousands of traffic cams between here and Notting Hill that would get mi in 5 seconds if I didn't pay a road tax or something. :police:

Neighbours doorcam footage?, there's certainly a lot of this on youtube, is there a Faceplant or instagram forum for stolen cars?

Thanks, yes, have asked, unfortunately no coverage, at least from the immediate neighbours. The chap that has cctv has it geofenced to his motorbike only. Have posted in the E-Type FB :salute:

The reason nobody heard anything is because they probably pushed the car down the road before starting the engine. Hope your car will be found eventually, if it does get found and especially if parked on the street get one of those Amazon trackers, they work well on a phone app showing the car location and route and the subscription is inly £70 pa.

Chuck a Pebblebee tracker in the car. They are about £30 each, no subscription and are hugely effective. We have them in our luggage, car keys, purse and wallet. Great at airport as we can track our luggage being loaded/unloaded on the plane! Works with Android or Apple and easily hidden in a car with a battery life of 6 months. They use nearby phones to crowd source location in real time and send it to Google 'Find Hub' or Apple 'Find My' apps. If your car is stolen you can even track the route taken.

The advantage with the type of tracker I mentioned is you can arm/disarm and when armed it alarms you in case of any car movement or a change in battery drain etc’.

Unfortunately the other trackers use GPS and the first thing thieves do is put a GPS jammer (sorry, privacy curtain as they are now known) in the car. https://www.jammer-store.com/gp5000-car ... ocker.html

The Pebblebee, Tile and AirTag devices use Bluetooth to contact nearby phones (including the thieves phones!) to send a 'me' signal to nearby/passing mobile phones and they in turn pass the message and their location to the central servers via 4G. Makes all other trackers redundant although for exact location they do need proximity to working mobile phones. So if you lose your keys in the middle of a field it can be a problem although from the app you can switch on a sounder and powerful flashing light.

But for £30, no installation or subscription, just chuck one under the carpet or anywhere else in the car. Feeling paranoid?, put a second one in the boot, the app will tell you when they need charging. They do not need to see the sky, just transmit/receive Bluetooth.

Clearly MP's and Civil Servants are enthusiatic members of our Forum

Only three days after I mentioned the use of GPS jammers to facilitate car theft the Government are introducing legislation to ban them: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-c ... hoplifters
