Electrical Connector - Bonnet

My car has been off the road for a few years and the bonnet is separate from the rest of the car. As such the large cable that takes power to the bonnet in the front left hand wheel arch is unplugged.

A while back I had to move the car and forgot about the cable and plug and the front left wheel ran over it - damaging the plug beyond repair.

So can you buy a new plug (where and how much) and can you just cut the old plug off the cable and put the new one on or is there more to it. The old plug does not seem to have the wires screwed in but seems to be resin filled.

Yes - SNG sell them but they are not cheap! ?135.

I did exactly that, 'looked at alternatives'.
