#1 New boy needs to find some parts !

Hi All. I recently inherited a series 3 (lucky boy) It has not run for 38 years and has been stolen and recovered twice ! Work is well under way (photos to follow) Engine rebuild under way, carbs refurbed,gauges and dials restored and recalibrated, chrome being rechromed and body going for a bare metal respray. I am now looking for a pair of front seats (any condition) Are they the same as the early XJS ? an ashtray and a glovebox for the centre console. Can anyone help ? Paul.

Lucky boy indeed. Seats are nothing like XJ-S. You could fit any 4.2 seats if you wish, although early ones do not recline or have headrests. Ashtray is the same as Series 2 and I think the short armrest box is the same as any long wheelbase car (i.e. Series 1 or 2 2+2 as well as Series 3). I assume yours is a 2+2 since you talk of 'front' seats?
