#1 V12 oil pressure

I recently started my dad's E-Type up for the first time in around 3 years, and like to know what kind of oil pressure an engine with 62,000 miles should be showing at idle. When running it was showing around 40lbs on the gauge, rising to 55/60lbs at a fast idle of 2500rpm, the car is unlikely to see any road use for a good couple of years but I'm planning to keep the engine in running order until its turn in the restoration queue comes.
With the engine running I also noticed that the top end sounded as though it had a bit of a rattle, it sounded like the cams slapping around the shims in the head, is this something that is likely to get quieter as the engine is run more often?
