Sorry I know this has been covered some where on the forum but I cannot find it for love nor money.
What is the name of the engineering firm that specialises in jag diff rebuilds, this is not a job I am going to tackle myself

I had the Diff rebuilt by these chaps new bearing and seals etc ?320 all in and turned round in a week, they specialise in classic and competition transmissions. I did the rest of the back end myself which is not to hard just buy bearings and seals from a good specialist factors using the part No, not from an "e-type parts supplier" that way they will be the correct part and not some out of tolerance alternative. :(

I have completely stripped the irs and have new discs, pads, remote bleed kit plus fulcrum arms, seals and washers and bearings. I had a leak from the rear diff pinion oil seal and on inspection the nut was finger tight (tight being not really the word to use) as the shaft and nut have no markings I really think it should go for a proper rebuild rather than chancing it. I do remember on an old cortina I owned many years ago you could set them up using a known weight on a fulcrum bar set at a certain distance. However comparing the two is a little ridiculous due to size and componants.
As for spares I find my local bearing suppliers fantastic and all the items and seals fit properly, I have had enough of so called e type specialists as I have to spend hours machining their parts to fit (fulcrum shafts 8 thou oversize) which is a shame because the material used was top quality steel.

I was the same I feel I could probably have done the diff but just did not have the nerve (too much work to get it out if I cocked up). So far it's the only piece of the car I have not done myself and I think I can live with that.
