Wrapping an E Type (Chrome)
#1 Wrapping an E Type (Chrome)
This will certainly stir up either love it or hate it statements I'm sure; with a car requiring a repaint at some point and thinking about putting it back to its original red so ultimately its original and then wrapping it with a chrome vinyl. The result should be pretty stunning. Has anyone heard of anyone doing this or got any pics?

Vinyl wraps are very popular on all types of car http://www.pwpro.co.uk/cars/projects but never seen it done on an E-Type although I did wonder about that 'roadster' from the film 'In Time'. Not sure if it was wrapped but this should give you some idea of what it would look like:

The only note of caution I would make is the surface has to be free from imperfections (cracked/peeling paint, rust, dings etc) because they will show up massively on a wrap.

Yep will need prepping to paint first for sure, totally agree. We've done couple or rears of our vans but not a whole vehicle! See if someone wants to do it as a project perhaps or some PR!!

They will be queuing up to do an E-Type so you certainly should be able to get good discount. These guys live off the publicity!

Funny, I was thinking of wrapping up my alloy D-type in BRG film to save painting and allow periodic inspection. Not all the rivets are flush though, so I don't think it would work.

#9 wrapping
My ser 3 hardtop is in need of a spray, but, I could be persuaded to chrome wrap for a few years as a PR project. Only cause for concern would be how easy is it to get off as I would imagine that could be a pricey exercise in removing it ready for paint prep (bonnet grill would be interesting to wrap !!!!)
