The pipe work from the breather outlet on the front of the left bank is connected to each carb. with a short length of vacuum hose. These hoses appear to have a preformed bend in them.
Has anyone replaced these hoses with a straight length of hose i.e. not preformed with a bend, if so does it work ok?
David Manners is quoting approx. ?11 each for these 4 inch lengths of hose, hence my question.

Hello Pete, I would think they are formed to this shape as over such a small length straight hose would kink. If you could achieve the same bend using straight hose i cannot see it would make any differance other than saving a small fortune. Let us know how you get on as mine are very loose and in need of replacing. Alfi.

It was the kinking I was concerned about - wouldn't want a kinky hose.
If you haven't checked your breather pipework recently it might be advisable if it's old. The steal pipes on mine were blocked with crud which was quite loose, a lot poured out of the pipe when I stood it on end. This would have been sucked into the carbs had the small bent hoses not been blocked also and collapsed on the inside of the bends.
