Air Con unit for a 71 V12

My car came with an air con unit but it was a poorly fitted addition/bodge job. So I'm wondering if I should be looking for a period replacement or maybe a modern unit that might be smaller (like a Vintage Air unit).As the car is apart, it would be the perfect time to think about this rather than when it's all back together

Has anyone been though this process and if so could you point me in the right direction.

Have a word with Nick Goldthorpe at CMC at Bridgnorth, Shropshire. They sell and/or fit aircon kits for most Es which look at very neat installation

thanks for the tip...I'll drop them an email as they only show a/c for the s1 and s2 cars.
