Pirelli have re made their 205/70VR15 Cinturato CN12 for series 3 cars and people that like the wider tyre look.

I wouldn't class fitting 205 tyres to a S2 car as any kind of an upgrade, my handling was atrocious with them, buying some 185 Cinturato's from you was a real transformation Dougal.

Hi Ian
You are absolutely right. However lots of people want a wider tyre. The steering is unpleasantly heavier, unless you modify your steering to suit, but even then the handling won't be as progressive; that's just physics. But I can understand that some people want to fill the wheel arches; but for me that is unnecessary an early E-Type is beautiful the way it was made. If you do want to fill the wheel arches to give it that slightly more meaty look the fitting the new Cinturato
https://www.borrani.com/en/205-70vr15-p ... urato.html or the Michelin XWX
https://www.borrani.com/en/205-70vr15-michelin-xwx.html period tyres that are suited to European sports cars will lessen the effect of a fatter tyre on the handling but giving you a bit more road holding and making the wheel arches look fuller is understandable
I often see series 1 & 2 E-Types for sale fitted with 205/70R15 tyres. I think if someone is selling a car they fit them because they are cheap. I have a 205/70R15 tyre with a white band on one side. but I would rather put a cactus down my underpants than fit it to any Jaguar I owned. I think white bands on British sports cars are vulgar, and cheap wobbly side walled tyres are definitely not for classic European sports cars. If that's what you like get something front wheel drive and drive around with your tyres inflated to 20 psi
Oops have I alienated some of my potential customers again.
