#1 Drain pipe blockage from fuel filler cap recess

As the thread title says, my '72 2+2 has a blocked pipe from the recess surrounding the fuel filler cap. I managed to poke some fine wire down there about 300mm but no further. Can anyone tell me where the end of this pipe is so maybe I can unblock it from the other end? Or is it not quite as simple as it might first appear?
Thanks in advance for any replies. Graham.

(I'm replying here too, for the benefit of the folks not in Technical thread)
I will qualify my answer as being based on my S1. However it is a 2+2 and it is Pale Primrose (but not for much longer).
My fuel drain exits approx 3" rearwards of the leading edge of the lower surface of the rear wing / wheel arch. More or less in line with the wheel itself. In other words aft of the rear wheel. On downwards facing surface of rear wing. Think mud-flaps and where they normally are. Three inches rear of that.
I took a picture but it didn't really say much. Just yellow metal with a hole in it. Hence didn't load it up.
Let me know if you can't figure out where I'm trying to describe.

Thanks for your response David. I'm presuming you're saying there's a drain hole in the underside of the arch about where my finger's pointing in the photo. There's nowt apparent on my car - am wondering if it's been inadvertently sealed over during a restoration!

The top and bottom holes have a short piece of metal pipe on the inside; these are joined by flexible hose. If you really want to you can access them by removing the fuel tank.
In some cars the bottom metal pipe is Y shaped; the other limb connects to the drain in the rear hatch body channel.
