Well, that niggling doubt was true! When I bought my car last year I knew it was losing a bit of coolant but it wasnt mixing oil and water. In true XK fashion it was running beautifully despite this! When the head was finally separated from the block she revealed the niggle in the form of the famous cracks between bores! Strangley I was actually almost glad that it was an opportunity to do the lot in one go! My Mrs seems to have bought into that idea as well so bonus!

Anyway, its took longer than expected, due to liner availability but its all built now and ready to go back in. Its had everything done, nut, bolt & washer. Pistons, timing gear, oil & water pumps, crank re-grind. Head rebuilt etc. It also revealed damaged water pump casting and distributor drive so good to do the lot. Its now painted, polished and ready to go back in this week. I cant wait to hear it running again!
