#1 RM V12 Commemorative

Post by vipergts » Tue Nov 02, 2010 8:53 pm

Did anyone see this in the flesh. Remember it being for sale not long ago. Horrid steering wheel.

That seems a low selling price for a commemorative, I have seen them priced up to around ?180k in some of the top of the market dealers?
Is the current market depressed in line with the general economic climate?

No, the market is not depressed, and that is a very good price indeed for a Commem. A few years ago they were sought after, but V12s as a whole no longer seem to be of much interest - at a recent seminar I attended 70 had 6 cylinder cars and 2 had V12s. The ?180k you refer to has to be one of the ripoff merchants

Well V12 have moved up over recent months and that has to do with etypes in general.

These 2 at Eagle

http://www.eaglegb.com/etypes.html?type=v12

Also at the RM auction was a very hit and miss non std colour V12 which was bid to 45K :? and didn't sell.

You would never have seen this kinda price bid a year ago.

I was interested to know the condition of the Commy at RM. Steering wheel is odd and I know the car has done the rounds relatively recently.

Out of all road going production E Types the Commy is the only car that was numbered and limited. I think these cars will be big big money one day. Not that I'm in it for the money but thats my honest opinion.

Its generally the first and last of any run that becomes the more sought after.
