Hi gents,
Good to have the forum back up!
I’ve recently fitted my clutch & gearbox to the engine (which is still out of the car) and I used loctite nickel anti seize lubricant on the pinion shaft and bush. Will this be ok or should I have used grease? I did use the same on my previous E Type when replacing the clutch and it seemed to be ok for the 4 or so years of use afterwards.

I can't think that it will do any harm at all . Grease in this area is liable to migrate to places it shouldn't !

Thanks Christopher, I’m sure I’d read in the service manual to use a little grease but now I can’t find that reference. As you say I can’t see that the smear of nickel anti seize will do any harm. I suppose the bronze bush is self lubricating is it not?

The pilot bush is a sintered Oilite bearing, which should be soaked in engine oil for 24 hours before fitting.
Therefore, as Christopher said, it needs no further lubrication.
