#1 Add photo option gone?

Post by rswaffie » Thu Apr 23, 2020 8:45 am

Hi,
Is it just me, but has the button to 'add photos' disappeared from view? Just tried to 'reply' and 'add new topic' and the option has gone.

I’ve tried on my iPhone and windows 10 laptop. I seem to remember this happening before but can’t remember what resolved it.

My W10 desktop screen has "add image to post" under the left bottom corner of the text box

Weird. Nothing on my iphone or work w10 laptop, but on my personal laptop, it's ok. It looks like it is a browser issue as my personal laptop is ok with MS Edge and IE, but not with Chrome. IOS uses safari and that doesn't show it either. i think there's an ios update available so i'll try that.

Thanks David, that was the first thing I tried. I’m sure this happened before and it resolved after a while. I’ll use it via Edge for the time being!

It's there on my laptpo but I don't use that link anyway, it seems to default to the .org rather than .cc function.

I use the Attachments tab below, works much better.

The 'P' link defaults to the .cc image site which is correct. We would prefer you did not use the attachment option for photos as it gobbles up storage space on the server and if we hit the limit it could cause problems with future postings. I put it there so members could attach pdf's or other documents which others might find of value.

For those wanting to regularly post photos then please sign up for a free Imgur account. It is delightfully simple to use and allows you to manage your photos properly. Postimage is OK for the odd image you do not care about but it is far from reliable and it is impossible to find out where it ends up. They changed from .org to .cc without telling anyone which broke hundreds of links on the Forum.

I need to look again at whether we continue to offer either function.

OK David. I will refrain from using the attachments method, particularly as I do have an Imgur account. It's remembering to use it though!! :scratchheadyellow:
