#1 Engine removal

Post by sulzeruk » Wed Feb 02, 2011 7:30 pm

Hi all, with going to remove the engine tomorrow night, does anyone have any pointers or tips. I am going to drop the engine and box out the bottom of the car as I have a 2 post ramp. What is the best way to do things? Any tips to getting the reaction plate out as the suspension is still mounted?

Got engine out of car no problem. Also managed to strip it in about an hour and a half, not a great deal to them at all! Quite a bit of blowby on the pistons so may need a rebore. Crank standard on big ends and mains but looking a bit scored. Will have a fun day tomorrow steam cleaning and measuring before raiding the piggy bank!
