#1 Heater Upgrade Kit - Spal Resistor Wiring Help

Post by Retroman » Wed Sep 30, 2020 2:41 pm

Hi,

As my fan motor was working on one speed and noisy decided to bite the bullet and buy an upgrade kit, which come with a Spal 7006 resistor which certainly looks the part.

No wiring instructions though so I am in the dark about how to connect to the old wiring to utilise the different speeds.

There are four spade connectors on it two of which looked bridged together.

Motor and 3 max are shared with two max and one max separate spade connections.

I surmise, maybe wrongly, that the motor max three shared connection by passes the resistor and puts all the juice directly into the motor and the other connectors give me the option of two power other power options for the lower speed but other than that I am head scratching one again.

I have tried to post a piccy of it but without success.

I have looked a previous posts but they are decade old and do not address this particular problem

Anyone out there done the same mod recently who figured it out?

Any advice as always much appreciated.

You can post a photo by using the blue 'P' icon at the bottom of the editor page. Simplest way is to test it with a 12v supply. Negative will go to fan case/earth and you can put the positive on each of the terminals and see what happens in terms of speed. There is a resistor in there to give a slow fan speed as you surmise.
