#1 Series 1 3.8 Engine Breather Pipe

Post by Series1 Stu » Sat Feb 06, 2021 1:41 pm

Hi

I've just received a new breather pipe C19002 from E Type Parts and am confused as to how this should go on. It looks as though it is bent in the wrong direction.

Unfortunately, the parts catalogue doesn't show the pipe so I can't verify that what I've got is correct although what I have is very different to the later breather pipe, C24740, which has an extra bend in it.

Has anybody got photographs showing the correct route of the pipe please?

Regards
Stuart

Thanks Steve, that was a big help. I've now got the solid pipe in place but need the elbow piece from engine breather to pipe.

At least I can get the Pedal box and reservoirs etc. back in now.

Cheers

Stuart

I had a look at the thread Steve provided the link for and see my images on drop box are no longer available.
I've attached three more showing the route. As you'll appreciate it's difficult to show the pipe in situ unless you remove half of the engine ancillaries. However the fact that I opted to use 15mm chrome plumbing pipe helps make it stand out:-

Hope this helps.

Originally it was silver, I bleive.

There is a clip holding it to the manifold. You may use the same (longer) clip as for the water pipe.

SNG sells now a relatively good version (you may need to bend the air trumpet end a little).

Thanks Alan & Tadek. Those pictures help a lot. If you have a shot of the elbow on the cylinder head breather then that would be an enormous help too.

I just need to get the support clip and elbow hose to finish this particular job.

Many thanks for all the help.
