#1 The Best upgrade for your E type
Hi All...havent mentioned this for a long time.....but a great cheap upgrade for your E type....as we start the driving season......just some filter wool or dacron upholstery wadding pushed into the bonnet air intake....stops all those bits of debris and dead flies ending up all over the dash....just pulled mine out to shake it clean....Steve

You could make this a general question Steve - see what everybody thinks is their favourite mod for their individual car.

No takers? OK here's my best mod - and it applies to 3.8 owners (and I'm one) change the moss for an all synchro box - you will never go back to it !
my opinion only of course

I can't beat Steve's 10p but for around £15, the conversion to blade fuses has been one of my more useful upgrades along with, for a similar outlay, relays for the headlights.
Actually thinking about it, I can probably equal Steve's 10p.............. the bulkhead heater duct deflector made from a bit of left over aluminium.

Do what my Dad did back in 1969 and upgrade your Series 1 to a Series 2

And my opinion : dont listen to all those who claim this. The Moss gearbox is very good, very solid,
and easy to handle if you are a real driver!.
The first gear goes easily at 70 kmh with a simple double declutching.
In addition with 4 synchros your 3.8L is no longer Originale.

A great tip Steve, and I'll probably do it to mine when the time comes, but the mechanical brake light switch is probably jostling with it for position as the Best Upgrade.
Now I'm looking for a Teddy Bear to rip the stuffing out of.................

Stuart

Find an old cushion or something similarly of little value. Honestly, why harm man’s best friend
Though I agree it’s a well worthwhile upgrade and like your bracket

Ok, I won't. Although after the day I've had trying to re-cover my dash top I need to destroy something.
