#1 Rossleigh Newcastle 1966
Bit of a long shot but I wondered if any members have a 'photo or newspaper advert for the Newcastle on Tyne Dealer in September ish of 1966.
I am trying to put together the history of my car. I know it was sold by Rossleigh in September 1966. I have tried the newspaper archives for that period and only turned up very small Rossleigh adverts for second hand cars and seeking an auto electrician. I would have thought that a big dealer like Rossleigh would have had a main advert in the local paper but so far my search has found nothing.
By lots of internet searches I have a good history file from 1976, traced and spoken to all three previous owners and the guy who rebuilt the engine in 1980. I've nothing from 1966 until it was bought from Airmyn
(near Goole) garage in 1976.
Any suggestions ?
Steve

The National Archives hold various records for Rossleigh, and in particular they reference this:
Is it the same garage?

Hi Richard, yes it is he same dealer but about 40 years too early.
I have scoured several sources to see if I can find an advert of around September 1966 but no joy.
The registration archives are held by the Kithead Trust but only go up to 1949.

There is a Facebook page ‘Newcastle Past & Present’ https://www.facebook.com/groups/newcast ... ?ref=share
So I joined and did a search for Rossleighs and Northumberland Road.

Thanks very much.
I now need to look for an advert from August /September 1966 which will hopefully list a light blue 2+2 for sale.
