#1 Engine loom fitting

Post by phoenix » Sat Jun 19, 2021 10:22 am

Hi I am fitting a new engine loom to a 1965 S1 4.2 and the loom from the voltage regulator to the connections to the starter seem to short by about 12inch or 30cm . I have tried to reroute the regulator wires but its still not long enough . Why do the wires go to the starter and not just to the battery anyway as the battery feed to the starter and the two main brown feed wires parallel each other .

Hi.
It's not clear to me what you are trying to do, but the Brown/Purple wire from the Regulator goes to the ignition switch, not the starter. The Brown/Green wire should be connected to the alternator.

I know what you mean. That's why I re-drew the diagram so that it was easier to follow.

Hopefully you can right click the diagram, save it and print it.
