The one at Sherwood has provenance from the day it left the factory and was delivered directly to Australia. Raced there ever since until someone brought it back to the UK last year. Paul, who owns Sherwood and is a racer, knew where it was and chased it down for Chris Rea. Thinner fibreglass, rose joints etc. They have put new replica magnesium alloys on it as they reckon the originals are way past their use by date. I was amazed how light the spinners were. Shame about the BRM engine although fitted in a normal road car it could be fun. I think that is what they may do with it.

Still reading up on the Elan which seems to be a bit like an Airfix kit compared to the E-Type. If I decide to take it any further you will be the first to know!

Nice video by the way.

I have Avons on one car and vredestein on the other. There is nothing wrong with the Avons, but I prefer the feel of the Vredesteins which give light and super accurate steering. I counsel stronlgy against wider tyre/wheel combinations, ( Ihad 205/70s at one time) which weight up the steering unacceptably in my experience, as well as in my case rubbing on arches etc ( not everyone seems to experience this)
