#1 SII - Clutch Alignment Tool

Post by JC » Thu Oct 21, 2021 6:20 pm

Clearly, I need a clutch alignment tool to fit my new clutch!!

There seems to be 4 options - there are probably more!!

1. Buy a £10 generic tool, locally from a general parts dealer
2. Buy a specific 'looking' tool from say Moss - for about the same price with postage
3. Make a DIY tool using a rod and insulating tape
4. Buy an expensive, all singing, all dancing professional one

As ever, all advice will be very gratefully received!!

Cheers, John C

Hello John,
I suspect that the two in the £10.00 area are simply two diameters; the spigot journal being a reasonable fit in a 1/2" ID bush in the flywheel, the other, a close fit in the ID of the Internal Spline of the clutch plate.

I use an old First Motion Shaft, but if I had to make a simple version, for £10.00, I'd buy one off the shelf; I value my time.

Regards,

Bill

You're only going to use it once. Go cheap.
