Hi

My name is Nick and l am a Jaguar nut..
I currently own a December 1968 EType Series 2 2+2
why a 2+2?
It’s the only one that l can comfortably fit into..
For those who look down on the 2+2 l say same car.. More space..

I also own an XKR and it is always a difficult choice which car to go out in on a sunny day here in Southern France.

I bought the EType in 2014 and it spent four years in the UK under refurbishment and the rest in my garage and me finishing off the fine detail.

Recently l have had a problem with the dreaded ignition light.
It was ok until a few months ago and then the light went out. When l turn the key to position 1 no light comes on…

Weeks of work and still no result
Starting at the light with the bulb, then a new bulb holder, checking wires that can be accessed after removing the dash top, working through to a new alternator regulator, checking the connections to the cans in the battery box and to the alternator, removing checking and overhauling the alternator and still no joy…

I ordered a new ‘Cool Cat’ electronic relay to fit beside the alternator relay and am awaiting that as a final effort before removing the wrapping on the loom and tracing every wire in the circuit..

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I'm another 2+2 fan who just doesn't fit in other models. We have friends who live in France that we play golf with - I can go there to stay for a few days with clothes and golf equipment for myself and my wife, including trolleys. Wouldn't do that in an OTS!
There again, it depends what you want your cat for; I don't want to start model wars on here!

I love all ETypes, OTS, Coupe, and 2+2. “You pays your money and you makes your choice”

Another reason l bought the 2+2 is that when we go anywhere in the car my wife thinks that she needs her whole wardrobe, just in case.. lf the actual wardrobe would fit in the car she would take it..

I really didn’t need four seats as my family are long gone, so l removed the rear seats and had a custom built cubby/secure storage box made where cameras, laptops etc can be hidden out of the view of prying eyes. It takes about a minute to remove and ten minutes to replace the rear seats, so the best of both worlds. It looks factory built and other 2+2 owners have said it was a good idea. Most people don’t even know the difference, or that it is even there..
If any other 2+2 owner like the idea l can help them.

Hi Nick...welcom to the forum.....im sure you will find it usefull.....do yoy have a goid wireing diagram for your model.....you should to need to cut into your harness...a continuitu test on the wireing should find your problem..its usually the small can ( 3aw)..that your waiting for.....Steve
