Hi yes well pointed out . Had a further look and it's still there as happening on there events , but if you go deeper into community posts that's where the cancellation is , could be a lot of disappointed people turning up on the 1st if they don't change the events .
Bit annoying really as it is an out door event , and I think we're all going to learn to live with covid , both me and my GF ( both vacinated) had it and nothing more than a heavy duty cold

My friend told me it had been cancelled.
But a look at their website shows it postponed.
Facebook isn’t really a reliable source is it.

There’s always the New Year’s Day classic car meet at the Phoenix Inn, Hartley Wintney.
But I wouldn’t be surprised if many events are cancelled in the near future.
If it’s on and my car is in one piece I may attend.

I'm a member of the Brooklands Trust, I had notification on 22nd Dec that due to the Covid situation the New Years Day gathering has been postponed. The museum will be closed on the day. The rearranged date is Easter Saturday 16th April. Tickets will be valid for the rearranged date or you can apply for a refund

Hi it might be worth mailing them back to change their events page on FB , could cause some wasted journeys

I find it mildly annoying that there is a charge for the classic car owners as they are the event entertainment. It is clearly just a fundraiser for Brooklands. If people see through that and still want to go, then fine, but it is somewhat like paying to go to a pop concert, only to find that the band are sitting at the back and getting the audience to do karaoke instead.

The Deer Hut in Liphook used to do such events and the pub simply had two car parks - one for classic car owners and one for the others. The pub didn't charge for entry and were happy to make a turn selling tea and coffee.

kind regards
Marek

I’m of the same mind Marek, but if you’re a member of Brooklands you can gain free entry to most events.
I don’t usually take my car anywhere there’s ineffective parenting, which unfortunately is most events.

Have been going to this one for quite a number of years as quite local for me. Wasn't on last year I understand because of Covid. Hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere this year, is it definitely on? If so I will be there.

Thanks Bill,

Will be there but probably in my Corvette C2. The E Type is tucked away in storage in Hullbridge.

Hi, event is definitely on but outside only so i assume there will be no refreshments so maybe bring a flask of coffee. If the roads are dry i will bring the e-type.
