#1 Spring clip

Post by UK Muppet » Wed Feb 09, 2022 10:06 pm

Yesterday I stripped the centre instrument panel and wiring looms out of my 69 2+2 Ser 2.
I noticed there is a small spring Terry clip screwed to the rear of the instrument panel with nothing attached to it. Does anyone have an idea what it is for? Its below the fuel and water gauges and above the rocker switches as can be seen in the photo.
Maybe it was added by a previous owner, but for what reason?

Thanks
Tony

I've not seen anything like that before.

My 71 S3 has one in the same position as shown above. Nothing clipped in it.

Maybe for holding a single cell battery for the electric clock?

I think the battery suggestion sounds reasonable but does this clock have a battery?
