#1 Dash turn signal indicator bulb changing access
The right Dash turn signal indicator bulbs is not blinking. Left is blinking.
The turn signal lights on the vehicle are blinking properly when stalk is actuated right and left so I assume it's a bulb.
LHD-I pulled off the trim to the right of the column under the Rev counter and I can see it but can't reach it. Looks to be the same access issue on the other side of the column.
Looks like removing the Rev counter has some rather limited access as well.
Is the easiest access to the Dash blinkers through removal of the dash top?

I’m not sure if this helps but I managed to get my hand up behind the dash and swap over the left and right bulb holders when I fitted LED flashers. So they can just be reached without pulling bits apart. Basically i was laying in the passenger side and used my left hand to get up behind the dash (RHD car). However I am lucky not to have fingers like pork sausages having avoided manual labour for most of my life

Yes, well, as i said above i tried that access point it is rather problematic for me.
If the dash removal is not an advantage or too involved I’ll continue to explore other avenues.
Any other feedback on methods?

As i said above, also problematic. The thumb screws are up above attached clock and all the bulb holders and wiring.

If you can’t go the ‘underneath’ route, or via the Rev counter, you probably have to take the dash top off. Or borrow someone with slimmer appendages.

Pulled the dash top, not a big deal really on this early 3.8 anyway.
Glad I wanted to pull out and lube speedo cable and wiper mechanism anyway cause turns out the problem is not the bulb but the column Switch which is completely accessible without pulling anything!
I've rebuilt is twice in the past 30 years and it's too loose to make a good connection to the right unless it's pushed down on it. Discovered once I tracked the circuit back to it since the bulb was good. When on the column could push it properly to make it come on.
Think I'll go for a repro switch. Terry's has them on sale at $221, pretty good price comparatively. Can't imagine there is more than one supplier doing turn signal switches for 3.8 Etypes so I would imagine they are all the same for a variety of prices.

Hi Layne, I got a repro indicator signal switch for my '62 a couple of years ago and it doesn't just fit right in. I had to use a combination of different washers etc to get everything to line up. Mine also failed after just 18 months because the piece that moves to make contact when moving the lever up/down broke. After that I went back to my original one (I'd replaced it initially because the chrome was chipped etc.). If I were you I'd try to repair your original or find a replacement online.

Appreciate the info but as you see above I have rebuilt it twice already and the contact buttons are worn flat. and it is generally worn and loose. Not good news on the repro but SNG (Terry's was B/O) said they've had "no complaints". Gee, never heard that before.
Anyway, ordered this morning and I'll report on fit and function.
