#1 Hot key syndrome

Post by DWW » Mon Apr 11, 2022 3:35 am

My key in the ignition switch is getting quite hot after a longish drive, is it time to install a relay to drastically reduce the current flow through the ignition switch?

I did this upgrade recently. I wasn't getting a hot key but now I get a nice warm feeling from not running all that current through the somewhat delicate ignition switch.
