fifty years
#1 fifty years
Hello All, Just thought i would post the fact that fifty years ago(April 1972) my Dad bought the E-Type," in as is condition" for $900.00. Found the bill of scale in some paperwork of my Mums. I have been the caretaker of the E since my Dad passed away in 2012. Took it for a 100 mile drive yesterday to celebrate, It ran great ( and 20 MPG too!). Don't understand why some owners' don't drive them more, they are just a great driving car. I got talking to another E-type owner, a year or so ago(S2 1969) and asked him if he took it out much,he said about 500 miles a year. I told i have done that in a weekend! Cheers RF

Hello RF (do you have a name you could add to your signature?). Ok I’ll offer twice that $900, think of that 100% profit
It’s great to hear of a car staying in a family for so long and that you get out and drive. It’s what the car is for.
Do you have any photos of then and now?
Keep enjoying and sharing your experiences.

There is nothing finer than a weekend spent in an E-Type, just driving to and from somewhere.
