Replacing and reconnecting the starter motor, I've stripped the thread on the terminal (on its solenoid) that takes power from my battery. Does anyone know if I will be able to dismantle the solenoid and replace this stud - or what ever it is?
Mine is a 1970 SII and on the starter motor is number LRS156, although there are lots of other identification letters/numbers stamped on it.

Those studs are copper which is why they are easy to strip. Do you have enough thread on the end to snug down a second nut?
Andrew.

No, the thred is all looking weak. I think my only options are extraacing the stud, or putting on a slightly smaller thread.
