#1 Door Card Trims series 1.5 roadster

My series 1.5 has a strange arrangement of trim at the door catch recess. it’s definitely a series 1.5 arrangement as I saw it on the yellow series 1.5 car at Gaydon which used to be an exhibit on the QE2. I assume it was a very shot lived arrangement which was surpassed by the S2 trim when it became available. The recess is shorter than that in a series 2 door card and is trimmed with the u shaped chrome part shown in my photo whereas the series 2 trim has a fixed leg which fits over the edge of the recess. Instead of the fixed leg my car has a small separate channel, again shown in the photos. The u shaped trim on my car appears to be the same as fitted on series 3 cars but I’m not sure if it is the same size. Can someone with a series 3 car tell me what the distance is between the centres of the holes at each end of the u shaped trim. They’ll be hidden under the ends of the long trims. My trim measures 5 and 9/16 inches across hole centres. I’m missing the LH trim which is not shown on any suppliers website under series 1.5 which all show the series 2 trim. I’ll order the series 3 item if it’s the correct size. I’m also missing the long chrome strip from the rear of recess to the rear of the door. It measures 15 and 1/4 inches which doesn’t appear to be available from suppliers so if anyone knows where I might get one I’d be very grateful

Following on from my question about trims for the card, what material is used under the door card covering. I have previously used a 1.5 mm thick synthetic felt which was self adhesive on both sides and was quick to apply and an excellent product but I’ve none left and seem to remember finding it on a market stall which no longer exists. Thin foam seems to disintegrate very quickly. Photo shows the product I have previously used, not a good photo but if anyone knows where to get it I’d love to know.

I took a punt and ordered the series 3 door recess trim from Barratts. Unfortunately as the attached photo shows it is longer than my original trim. The shorter trim doesn’t seem to be available anywhere and one supplier went so far as to say it had never been fitted to an etype. Before I return the S3 trim does anyone know what material it’s made from. I’m wondering if 27mm could be cut out of the centre and the two ends be Tig welded together and be re chromed. Messy solution but I’m reluctant to scrap the door cards, right hand trims and door recesses to switch to the S2 arrangement
