Guys jumped on this so I can get the Etype going!
A lot of work for one day hopefully tomorrow it will be running!
Quite small looking carbs, what size are they?

They look like H2 to me, which is entirely adequate for a 2 litre engine : lovely to see an Aceca which has the AC rather than the Bristol engine - it really is a jewel of an engine with its design going back to 1919 and virtually unchanged after that

It’s a fun little car!
The technology from this early 1950s creation to an early 1960s creation AKA the Etype is miles ahead.
In a week guys we are knee deep in E type 5 speed instal!!!
Give me a bit ,promise we will get this done in good order

And now the fun begins!
Now that the Aceca is running after 40 years!
Going back to the Etype is a 720s Mclaren!
Pictures coming all week step by step!
Ps Holy cow going to EZ steering
Quick rack
Vented disc brakes and 6 inch wheels and Michelin xwx
The Aceca is just a fun toaster box to take down the road…..straight…. With no brakes😁and no turns😀

I’m going to try and post the way to do it with the LEAST amount of removal and work.
Hopefully tomorrow the bonnet is off and we are ready to roll

Let’s do it!!!!!
For now on all my posts will be the next morning so my friends in Europe are on the same day!
If there is one person on this planet that didn’t know
I rebuilt the entire car within 24 months
Except for paint so we should not have to worry about a host of other things and just stick to the 5 speed swap!
I needed two young guys to lift as all you need to do is take out the
2 Spring hinge bolts
2 lower pivot bolts
Head light harness and
Shimmy out the bonnet bushings!
Tomorrow we remove the 1 wire alternator and brackets.
Remember we are dropping the engine from below!
Fun. Fun. Fun!
Gtjoey1314
Hope I’m going slow enough 😀
All we needed today is a 7/16. 1/2 and 9/16 wrenches and socket

Step 2
Removing the alternator and bracket
Along with the Single Rob Beeres serpentine set up
Eliminating the jockey pulley
What a dream, every 100,000 miles just replace the belt😁
The coil is pulled back with the 2 screws removed.
Everything was 1/2 , 9/16 except the 5/8 bolt for the Alt bracket.
Tomorrow the exhaust
Enjoy

I cleared the whole left side including the entire exhaust in less than an hour by myself.
Its a pleasure since everything is new with only 9,000 miles in a year since the rebuild.
Tomorrow I post the exhaust removal.
I can do the whole job in a weekend but this is fun posting.
Enjoy

I’m Italian…. Couldn’t wait😂
Step 3
Removed the entire exhaust in one complete piece.
Take out the 8 nuts and washers from down pipes.
Then loosen and remove Exhaust manifolds with down pipes still in place.
Now take out the 4 muffler bracket bolts with support under mufflers.
Take out center bolt on resonator bracket.
Remove support under muffler and drop exhaust and slide out back!
Note the SNG manifolds for the money are excellent!
I put a Hard 9,000 miles in heat, cold and yes snow!
They are starting to blemish but the fit and finish are just great.
Note series 2 heat shield, it looks almost period and does deflect heat
The drivers side is now stripped except for the motor mount
I’m trying something new on the carb side.
Stay tuned!👍🏾

With the new box if all goes to plan
The breather pipe will be deleted and the mufflers once washed up and reinstalled shouldn’t be covered in transmission fluid from the original box!

Joey I see another book in your future........ "Jags for Dummies" or "Engine Removal made simple for Dummies"

Leno's got nothing on you, you do the work yourself......you can tell him I said that....LOL

Follow my lead Tex…..
Once you put the 307 rear , it’s the start of a new driving experience!
Then the 5 speed 😀
