I think I made most faint at this point........
Guy Broad does not sell the stick shift in chrome so Brush alloy will stay for now.
I have a callout to some GOODWOOD friends, do I stick with center console ordo a DTYPE look?
There is SO much more room without the bulky center setup.
Thinking ,Thinking...

Thank you, I hope this whole thread helps others.....
The RUBBER GATOR is getting chewed up on the sides from the metal hold down when shifting 1/2 or 5/reverse
So I will massage that black surround tomorrow.
Ordered both gator styles the round bubble and the one you see....Is the bubble bigger?
ITS SOOOO QUIETIN THE CAR,THE NEW BOX IS REALLY REALLY NICE.
We are getting there.
Any suggestions?
The console and radio are the next big issue.

Is that an ECU positioned near the firewall ahead of the shifter?

Bitso , That’s the box for the WONDERFUL
EZ Steering!
I have the latest version with all self adjustment
With 205 tires
6 inch wheels
Welsh 15 inch steering wheel
The car is wonderful!
I made a bet with Wiil and Julian at SNG that if it was great I would preach it.
I sold them 15 units in 4 weeks!
At 3,200 per unit
No commissions!🤣
If you go my route it’s great
Imho

You could try the S3 gaitor which is silicone so unlikely to tear or chafe. I used it on my 3.8 Moss box to get a good seal on the opening. BD29420:

You have to massage the hood down ring.
Touch up with high heat paint and the Heuer rubber gator will be here tomorrow
All that is left is
Massage the original console or go custom?
The massage to the ring was for 5th and reverse.....clears by a mile now.

I think I may now understand the differences between your installation and mine, the fact so much massaging was needed, it is all to do with the differences between LHD and RHD, the angle of the drive shaft and the placement of the hand brake to name but a few.

LHD & RHD are identical in these areas.

Danny,

Every RHD car I've seen has the handbrake mounted exactly as a LHD car.

Danny,

Every RHD E type I have seen has the handbrake mounted exactly as a LHD car.

Google "E type RHD interior" and you can see it.

Thanks for that, must have been thinking of a different car or a different left and right  .....of course you are right.
